WebYou can put S&W parts into the pro mags to help out. Ive done the same thing for some 9mm promags I have. They, so far, have not had any issues. However that is 9mm which is going for well over $100 at this time for OEM mags. For .40 it isnt much cheaper to swap the parts then get an OEM mag. So I would recommend sticking with factory mags.
