WebSep 19, 2014 · If they hooked power to ground somewhere on a larger size wire... yeah, probably fried the diode trio in the alternator. That tractor, IIRC, has an internally regulated alternator... so the wires that go to the alt are a primary Bat wire, a ground, a charge indicator light and 1 or 2 wires that run through a battery temp sensor under the battery.
